Guatemala

I know. I know. It's been a while since I've written on this thing. We've been a bit preoccupied with life. Anyways, Brandon got back from his trip to Guatemala on Sunday. He tells everyone that he had the time of his life. Here are some of the highlights...

this is just some of the beautiful country

Here are some typical homes that the people in the villages outside of Guatemala City live in. notice the roof is held on by cinder blocks. Walls are made of tin or dried up corn stalks.

The blue tubs next to Brandon are used for the community to wash clothes in.

Brandon helped deliver new bunk beds to a family.

Building a chicken coop for a family to be able to support themselves with a small chicken farm.

Replacing unsafe tin windows and doors. They had to actually build the windows and doors from scratch.

Brandon welding new windows.

The family and their new windows.

Here are some of Brandon's favorite kids.

The highlight of Brandon's trip was a visit to a school for kids with Down Syndrome. The boy in the blue hat was a master rapper.

Brandon has become quite the handyman it seems. Well done, "son" of ours. We knew it would be life changing.
